Dear Friends of VOICE,

VOICE Board of Directors is honoured by and deeply appreciative of Hoi Trinh’s leadership as Executive Director for the past decade, which effectively ends December 31, 2019. Hoi has worked steadfastly and relentlessly to build VOICE, and advance our dual missions to assist the remaining Vietnamese asylum seekers and promote civil society in Viet Nam. With passion, dedication, and pure hard work, he has connected Viet communities across the globe to work towards common goals.

Together, VOICE and our affiliates have assisted many forgotten refugees to reach permanent resettlement.  He has also been instrumental in cultivating young Viet activists through training and connecting them with stakeholders outside of Viet Nam. Under his visionary leadership, VOICE has become an effective organization providing assistance and training; but moreover, it has become a global movement to build a better Viet Nam.

While Hoi will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of VOICE, he will remain an integral part of VOICE larger family, and will serve as a member of VOICE Board of Directors. VOICE is still in transition and our priority has been to find the best individual to lead VOICE.  During this time, the Board of Directors will be working closely with our competent and committed transitional team to ensure a seamless operation. VOICE Director of Operations Duong Nguyen will be based in the Philippines to provide operational oversight. Together, we will continue along a successful trajectory for VOICE.

Again, we cannot thank Hoi enough for the commitment, enthusiasm and motivation he has given VOICE over the past 10 years. We look forward to following the success of his next endeavour.  We are hopeful and excited for VOICE’s next chapter, as we continue to assist asylum seekers and advance the movement for civil society in Viet Nam.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact VOICE Director of Operations at [email protected], or me directly at j[email protected].
