VOICE AUSTRALIA

In conjunction with the Vietnamese Community and the Australian Asylum
Seeker Resource Centre (AASRC), VOICE Australia held an information
session for Vietnamese asylum seekers who were recently released into the
community on Bridging Visas. Over 50 asylum seekers were in attendance.
VOz, AASRC and the Vietnamese Community will continue to provide
information and legal assistance as necessary to the refugees. An information
stall will be available at the Tet Festival on February 21 and 22.

VOICE EUROPE

On January 23 –25, 2015, VOICE Europe organized two fundraisers in Brussels,

Belgium and Paris, France to help support the development of civil society in
Vietnam. Friends of VOICE in Munich, Germany also organized a fundraiser in
Munich for two civil society organizations (CSOs):
Con Duong Viet Nam and Nhip Cau Hoang Sa. The fundraising concerts, which
were sold out in both Brussels and Paris, included singers Hoang Oanh, Lam
Thuy Van,Nguyen Khang with VOICE’s current Executive Director as the MC
at all the 3 events. These fundraisers served to raise financial assistance for CSOs
in Vietnam and to raise public awareness of the challenges and opportunities in
Vietnam.

VOICE CANADA

On 1 February 2015, VOICE Canada was amongst 14 organizations recognized by
Prime Minister Stephen Harper for efforts in honouring the history of Vietnamese
people in Canada. The award was presented to theVOICE Canada team by Senator
Hai Thanh Ngo during a VIP reception at the 2015 Tet Festival in Toronto, Ontario.
The Vietnamese Association in Toronto also presented VOICE Canada with an
award of appreciation for their outstanding efforts in resettling thelast remaining
Vietnamese Boat People to Canada.
