Maxwell Vo / President

From Toronto, Canada, Max is a passionate volunteer with both Vietnamese and Canadian organizations in Toronto. Max helped found SOS Viet-Phi, a Canadian non-profit organization that started in 2004 to advocate for the last group of Vietnamese boat people who have been stranded in the Philippines. Max helped lead the lobbying efforts with the Canadian Government which resulted in a new Public Policy in 2005, allowing up to 200 stateless Vietnamese boat people to be reunited with their family in Canada. Max is also the President of the Vietnamese Association of Toronto (VAT), Vice-President of Accommdation and Information Services (AIS) Inc. and is a Board Member of the Vietnamese Science & Culture Association (VCSA), Toronto Chapter. Max holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Queen's University and currently works as an Asset Manager, overseeing an $800M real estate portfolio with Morguard Investments Ltd. in Toronto.

Reuben Janke / Vice President (Project Management)

Reuben has been heavily involved with VOICE since its beginning, initially working as a Volunteer Refugee Case Worker in the VOICE Manila office in 2007. A graduate of the University of New South Wales, Reuben holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), with particular focus on humanitarian and human rights - especially refugee protection and resettlement. As Country Director of the Australian arm of VOICE, Reuben has also been active in negotiations with the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship, seeking assistance for the last remaining Vietnamese refugee cases in the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia.
